In 2021, during her own pregnancy, Kate developed a gentle method of prenatal, postpartum and women's health yoga. It grew from lived experience: two decades of yoga practice meeting the reality of a changing body, and the wish to practice with softness rather than force.
A softer way to practice
Pregnancy and the months after birth ask for a different kind of practice — slower, breath-led, attentive to energy rather than achievement. This method draws on the foundations of traditional yoga while letting go of anything that does not serve this season of life: gentle movement, breathing, rest, and time to simply be with your body.
This page is informational, not medical advice. Please consult your doctor or midwife before starting or continuing yoga during pregnancy or postpartum recovery. If you are curious how this relates to the traditional practice, read Is Ashtanga safe during pregnancy?
Femme Soul — yoga for women
This women's health work has taken shape in SOMA's Femme Soul projects — a Femme Soul Yoga & Ayurveda course integrating yoga and ayurvedic wisdom, and Femme Soul retreats held in Bali and Warsaw. New editions are announced through the club's channels.
How to practice with Kate
In Paris, private sessions can be shaped entirely around prenatal or postpartum needs. From anywhere else, online classes offer gentle guided practices you can do at home. To ask whether the method fits where you are right now, write on Instagram @astngalien.
Frequently asked questions
Can I do yoga while pregnant?
Many women practice gentle, appropriately adapted yoga through pregnancy, but every pregnancy is different — always consult your doctor or midwife before beginning or continuing any practice, and work with a teacher experienced in prenatal yoga.
When can I return to yoga after birth?
There is no universal timeline. Recovery is personal, and clearance from your doctor or midwife comes first. When you return, the practice begins softly — breath, gentle movement, and patience with your body.
What is women's health yoga?
A gentle approach that adapts yoga practice to the rhythms and needs of a woman's body — pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and general wellbeing — rather than pushing the body through a fixed sequence.
Do I need yoga experience to start?
No. The method is gentle by design and sessions are adapted to you. Private lessons in Paris or online guidance both work for complete beginners.
